Veerle Carron

Veerle Carron was born in Diksmuide on 25 May 1964.

She successfully completed her secondary education at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-van-Vlaanderen lyceum in Kortrijk in 1982, where she followed the Classical Languages curriculum.

After taking a bachelor’s degree in History, she went on to obtain a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Louvain, graduating on 12 July 1989 (K.U. Leuven with distinction).
She was called to the bar in the judicial district of Kortrijk on 1 October 1990 and originally combined practising as a lawyer with a research assistantship under Professor Koen Geens at the Jan Ronse Institute for Corporate law at the University of Louvain. Veerle Carron is founding partner of ‘Trius advocaten’.

She specializes in all aspects of corporate law, having many years of experience in both the preparation of legal opinions and legal representation in this field.

She acts as an advisor and consultant in matters relating to:

  • the setting up of companies: choice of legal form, articles of association
  • the dissolution and winding up of companies
  • the transfer of shares and enterprises
  • shareholders’ agreements
  • management contracts
  • family inheritance law
  • companies in difficulties

She advises and offers legal representation with regard to:

  • compulsory transfer and acquisition of shares
  • civil and criminal liability of directors and executive officers

Her expertise also extends to commercial law (commercial contracts, commercial distribution law, and competition law).
Veerle Carron is also a recognised arbitrator in commercial disputes. Arbitration is an alternative to classic legal proceedings whereby the arbitrator, as a neutral participant, mediates between the parties to a dispute and assists them in communicating with each other with the aim of helping them to arrive at an out of court settlement, where possible.

Veerle Carrron has published a number of articles and is co-author of the “BVBA in de praktijk” (Private Limited Company in practice) and “Vennootschap en aansprakelijkheid” (Corporations and liability).
She was a member of the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Association from 1994 to 1998 and later president from 1998 to 2000.
